Peoplehood

While some people are motivated to connect to specific types of programs or activities, others are less interested in the activity itself and are instead looking for ways to find their people. This theory is explored in the book, “Bowling Alone,” which explains that some people will go bowling because they like bowling, while others go bowling because they want to be with the other people who are going. YourJewish hopes to help you find your people to “do Jewish” with, whether that be based on age, gender, stage of life, or any other shared aspect of identity.

Cultural

Many Jews understand their Jewish identity in primarily cultural terms. Demographic studies show that a large number of people define their Jewishness in cultural or non-religious terms. In fact, a local study made clear that many people desire being part of a Jewish community, but have yet to find their place. A goal of YourJewish is to connect people living in Jewish households and we invite you to expand your Jewish identity through the performing, visual and literary arts, food, and regional customs and history. YourJewish connects people through performances, lectures, retreats, and other immersive experiences, thereby deepening their connections to Judaism.

Tradition
